Tickets are now on sale for the 2018 Melbourne Fringe Festival (13 – 30 September) and with over 440 events, across every artform imaginable, this year Fringe asks – are you game?
This year, we are thrilled to have nearly 200 artists who identify as Deaf or with disability performing (or presenting work) at this year’s Festival – which we hope is going to the be the most inclusive and accessible Melbourne Fringe ever. You are most welcome to spread the word about this year’s Festival to your networks – we want them to come!
Check out our Disability and Deaf Arts Guide to Fringe, it covers works that explore disability as a theme, be it conceptual ideas or actual realities (or why not both?!?). From a panel discussion with some of Victoria’s best female disability performers, to a live art installation celebrating Disability Pride, from a celebration of circus through the lens of disability to theatre exploring what’s it’s like being disability when surrounded by empty gestures. We also have not one, but two shows devised entirely in Auslan. This is one celebration of all things disability and Deaf arts.
We have lots of accessible events – look for the access symbols in the Festival Guide or on our website.
