Round 4 – Glenferrie B.C.C. v Burwood B.C.C. - Day 2
Burwood resumed at 1-18 chasing Glenferrie's 118. Burwood effectively lost a wicket before the first ball was bowled with Captain David Goodman unavailable. Acting Captain Scott Peucker and Amy Lee-Archer were at the crease. The pair was beginning to look settled before Amy was bowled by Sophia Seng in the sixth over. The incoming batsman was Chris Baille but moments later he was bowled by Ian Walsh. The incoming batsman was Josh Morgan. Peucker and Morgan looked to consolidate, but the change of David MacFarlane into the attack brought dividends as he snared Scott Peucker in his first over. With a few droplets of rain falling, the Burwood hierarchy looked to the heavens to save them. The incoming batsman was David Gauci.
David Gauci looked solid, but those around him were not able to occupy the crease, and by tea Glenferrie required 2 wickets for a first innings victory. The same story continued after the interval, and with Manny Tzourtzoukils and Brendan Fox dismissed cheaply, Burwood were all out for 77, leaving them 41 runs short of Glenferrie's first innings total.
With approximately 1 hour of play left in the day both Captains agreed to abandon play for the rest of day.
Scott Peucker top-scored with 25 for Burwood while David Gauci was not-out on 14. Ty Atkinson was the best of the Glenferrie bowling attack taking 3-10 off 6 overs. Chris Stevens finished with 1-19 off 8 overs, Sophia Seng was also valuable taking 1-6 off 2 overs and David MacFarlane taking 1-10 off 2 overs.
Glenferrie was awarded 4 points for a first innings victory lifting their total to 18 points and consolidating 2nd position on the ladder.

Round 4 – Institute B.C.C. v St. Paul's B.C.C. - Day 2
Institute resumed their 2nd innings in a precarious position at 2-12 having been dismissed for just 22 in their 1st innings. To their credit the Institute pair of Rin Pas and Tony Montesanti faught back putting on an excellent 37 run partnership. Rin Pas was eventually bowled by Brett Wilson on 21 and Tony Montesanti was bowled by Garry Stinchcombe on 16. The lack of depth in the Institute batting line-up quickly showed up and Institute were all out for 64, leaving them without a win from the first four rounds.
Brett Wilson was the best of the bowler's for St. Paul's taking 3-7 off 10 overs. Paul Ravenarki was equally damaging taking 3-8 off 10 overs and Garry Stinchcombe contributed 1-9 off his 5 overs.

Round 4 – Glenferrie B.C.C. v Burwood B.C.C. - Day 1
Glenferrie's opening pairing of Ty Atkinson and Marco Curralejo made a slow start against Burwood, reaching double figures just before the the 8th over mark when Atkinson was bowled by David Gauci. The home side then lost Sophia Seng from the first ball of the 10th over when he was bowled by David Goodman for no score. Peter Hyzca was the next batsmen in for Glenferrie. At drinks at 2:00pm, Glenferrie was 2/34. Curralejo was stumped by Brian Talbot just before tea break and Dean Calder was the entered batsman for Glenferrie. After tea, Hyzca impressed with his batting, reaching 36 before he was run-out by some good fielding by Scott Peucker. Dean Calder was then trapped LBW off the bowling of Amy Lee-Archer from the last ball in the 28th over. Kingsley Williams then followed shortly after he was given run-out in a running blunder. David Goodman then bowled John Tongalea in the 30th over.
David MacFarlane continued on with handy support at the other end from Colin Begg to produce a total that should provide a challenging but achievable chase for Burwood. Glenferrie was all-out for 111 after 50.3 overs.
A change of innings occurred with a minimum of 5 overs left in the day. Glenferrie was desperate for a wicket and achieved this when Brian Talbot was bowled. At the end of the day Burwood was 1-18. Burwood has effectively lost 2 wickets as David Goodman will be unavailable next week. Scott Peucker will be Captaining the side in his absence.
Burwood will resume at 1-18, leaving the door open for a 1st innings win for either side.
