Head Coach appointed to the Victorian Blind Cricket Squad

Cricket Victoria and the Victorian Blind Cricket Association are pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Walton to the position of Head Coach for the Victorian Blind Cricket Team. Andrew comes with an impressive history in high performance coaching which includes being the current coach of Victorian Premier Cricket club Melbourne CC and the current intake with Cricket Australia Level 3 candidates. Previous history at Premier Cricket level includes Prahran CC, Fitzroy-Doncaster CC and Hawthorn-Monash University CC along with Plenty Valley CC in the Women’s competition.

Outside of Australia, Andrew has spent time as a guest coach at Middlesex County Cricket Club in England and since 2012 has been annually invited as a specialist coach to the Karnataka Institute of Cricket in Bangalore.

“Thanks to Victorian Blind Cricket for accepting me in this role for which am grateful. Being allowed the responsibility and focus ahead to the 2018 NCIC is appreciated. I look forward to sharing the knowledge being gained through the CA High Performance program and adapting this for the improvement and enjoyment of our players,” said Walton.

Victorian Blind Cricket is very privileged to have the services of someone of the calibre of Andrew as Head Coach and his appointment represents a quantum leap for the development of those in the Victorian Blind Cricket State Squad.
