The Victorian Blind Cricket Association wishes to share memoir of Lindsay Kline’s contribution to blind cricket prepared by VBCA Life Member, Mr John Capes:

“You are probably not aware that Lindsay had a lot to do with Blind Cricket in the 70/80s.  He donated all the fire extinguishers for the Charlie Bradley pavilion when it was built, through his business, and attended the opening of the pavilion as an invited guest.  He umpired some Blind Cricket matches and attended presentation dinners.  He also organised several social matches between his then club Burwood and Burwood Blind C.C.   Lindsay also coached the Burwood Blind C.C. a couple of times.   Lindsay was always willing to assist Blind cricketers in any way possible.  I am planning on attending his funeral service at the MCG on Monday and will mention the Blind Cricket if I get an opportunity via the condolences book.”

I would like to take this opportunity to thank John for sharing this memoir of Lindsay’s contribution to blind cricket.  The VBCA will pay tribute to Lindsay as part of the events to mark the start of the upcoming season on Saturday.
